If you applied for more than one child and only some of them were approved, this article is for you.
Why were some of my children approved and not others?
Each child's application is reviewed separately. This means that one child can be approved while another is declined — even if you submitted the same documents for both.
The most common reasons this happens are:
- Funding ran out for the specific area, sport, or gender of one of your children before their application was reviewed
- One child's documents met all the requirements but another child's did not
Can I still use the funds for the child who was approved?
Yes. If one or more of your children were approved, those funds are yours to use for registration fees. An approval for one child is not affected by a decline for another.
What if I need help for all of my children right now?
While you wait for the next application to open, here are a few options:
- Ask your child's league or program if they offer scholarships or financial aid
- Ask about payment plans to help spread out the cost
- Contact your local Parks & Recreation department — many offer low-cost programs or extra funding
