Here are the most common reasons a Chek card gets declined:
1. The card was used at the wrong place. Your funds can only be used to pay registration fees at the sports organization you listed on your Every Kid Sports Pass application. The card will not work at stores like Dick's Sporting Goods, Amazon, restaurants, or similar places.
2. The charge is more than your balance. If the total is higher than what is on your card, the payment will not go through. For example, if your card has $150 but the total is $154.50, it will be declined. Try asking your sports organization for a small discount to bring the total down, or ask if they can split the payment. Note: extra funds cannot be added to your Chek card.
3. The billing address or zip code is wrong. If you are asked to enter an address or zip code, use the same zip code you put on your Every Kid Sports Pass application.
4. Your sports organization has not been approved in Chek yet. If this is the first time your organization is receiving the grant, or if they recently changed their payment system, they may need to be added to Chek. If none of the above apply, contact Chek support by submitting a ticket through the Chek app.
