Here are some common reasons why your Chek card may have been declined when trying to make a payment:
The card was used at a location that is not approved.
The funds from the T-Mobile Little League Call Up Grant can only be used to pay for registration fees at the youth sports organization entered in your Every Kid Sports Pass application. The card will not work at stores or businesses such as Dick’s Sporting Goods, Amazon, restaurants, or similar places. The total charge is more than the available balance on the card.
The transaction will be declined if the amount being charged is higher than the amount on the card. For example, if your card has $150 and the total charge is $154.50, the payment will not go through. In this case, we recommend contacting your youth sports organization directly to ask for a discount to bring the total to $150 or less, or to request splitting the payment. Please note that additional funds cannot be added to Chek cards. The billing address is entered incorrectly.
If you are asked to enter an address (usually a zip code), make sure you use the same zip code that you provided on your Every Kid Sports Pass application. The youth sports organization has not yet been approved in Chek.
If this is the first time your youth sports organization is receiving the grant, or if they recently changed their payment system, they may need to be added as a pre-approved merchant in Chek. If none of the reasons above apply to your situation, please contact Chek support by submitting a ticket through the Chek app.
